Homemade Beef Burger

Ingredients
- 550g Coles Brand beef mince 5 star
- 175g Coles Brand outdoor bred shortcut bacon
- 2 tbsp Coles olive oil
- 1/2 brown onion, finely diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cracked black pepper
- 4 Tasty cheese slices
- 4 round rolls, cut in half
- 2 large iceberg lettuce leaves, cut in quarters
Preparation method
Return same pan to medium high heat, add 1 tablespoon of the oil and sauté the onions for 2 to 3 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds, then remove pan from the heat and let onion cool.
Preheat a barbecue to a medium-high heat.
In a large mixing bowl combine mince with cooled onions, Dijon, Worcestershire, salt and pepper and mix well.
Divide mixture into 4 portions and shape each portion of beef into a pattie.
Brush each beef burger with a little of the remaining olive oil and season with salt and pepper on both sides, then place onto the barbeque. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes then flip burgers, place a slice of cheese over each and cook for a further 2 minutes or until cooked to your liking.
Remove from the barbeque and let rest for 2 minutes.
Brush the inside of each bun with a little of the remaining olive oil and cook on the barbeque until lightly toasted, then remove.
Divide the lettuce among the 4 bun bottoms, place a beefburger on top of each bun with lettuce, top with the bacon and the tops of the buns.
Serve immediately.
